My journey started as a five year old crab fishing off the groynes on Bournemouth beach. Crab fishing soon got modified with a lolly pop stick for a float into fishing then a family friend donated me a second hand fishing rod. Fishing has always accompanied me it's been a great friend and place of safety as life sent me various challenges. It takes many forms including kayak and spear fishing.

15 years or so ago I got involved with Dorset Fungus Group which is where I developed my knowledge on wild fungi. After becoming vice chairman of the group I decide to go off and start my own group "Bournemouth and Dorset Foraging and Identification". I have been running this group for 10 years.

My love for fungi has now expanded into knowledge of plants and seashore foraging and I have a keen interest in Bush craft.

Foraging has been invaluable for my journey into self discovery. Nature is so raw and pure that it inspires us to look at ourselves with fresh eyes.

I am fully ensured to teach foraging.

I run group forays on seashore foraging, spring greens and fungi. I am also available to take people for private sessions. These cost £50 for a single person for 2 hours. Each additional person is £10.
